If you think you clicked on the wrong page you are in for a surprise…
Welcome to my blog! Life is all about trials and tribulations, especially when you become a mom. Us madres are faced with so many decisions every single day. Many people will judge you for what you do and don’t do. Judgements come at mothers from all angles- whether it is our own parents, other mothers, in-laws, coaches, teachers, and even complete strangers. Quite often, we feel insecure when we are being judged.
The most important thing to remember is that the fun begins when you stop comparing yourself to everyone else. Focus on your own shit and push yourself to be the best for no one else than yourself.. You don’t have to be better than someone. Just aim to be better than you were yesterday. One step at a time. And that’s how I look at motherhood.
As a full time lecturer, coach, coordinator and a mother I have a hard time finding time for myself. And since I am a millennial, me-time is very important. A good way of keeping sane is through my writing. I find it very therapeutic. It opens my mind to new patterns of thinking. New ways of looking at life while discovering more of myself. I would love to share these with you in this blog.
Someone once asked me: “When you’re gone would you rather have your epitaph say ‘She never missed a meeting’. Or one that said ‘She was a great mother’?
Don’t work too hard, work smart. Divide your time accordingly, stimulate your mind, do fun things, eat healthy. I do condone alcohol consumption. It is definitely okay for us mommys to drink once in a while. It’s all about asking yourself the right questions: How can I learn to know myself and then put this knowledge to good use, not only in my personal but also in my professional life.
I have made it my mission to share some knowledge with a tad of humor and sarcasm in the midst of changing and difficult times. I want to inspire women to think of a balance that works for them. I will set the stepping stones that are required for a change in thought pattern. That might require an odd soul-searching article here and there, or sharing recipes of meals that can be cooked within 20 minutes, or by sharing beauty tips using ingredients that you have at home. An open mind is the key to personal growth. Because I strongly believe that personal growth and good parenting go hand in hand. We can only find harmony through perceived balance once we’ve let go of thoughts and patterns that disable us.
Join in my journey through the trials and tribulations of mommyhood, balancing work and life, and all that while still keeping my sanity.
